Environmentalists have launched television and radio ads, as well as a Web site, to attack Alaska Republican Sen. Lisa Murkowski for her efforts to stop the Environmental Protection Agency from regulating greenhouse-gas emissions. Some groups are planning a billboard in Arkansas to target Democratic Sen. Blanche Lincoln, who supports Murkowski's resolution, for what they call an effort that would gut the Clean Air Act. "These personal attacks ignore the fact that there's a legitimate debate to be had" on whether the Clean Air Act is the right instrument to use against climate change, said a Murkowski aide.
