Three-dimensional solar panels could absorb more light than flat panels, according to researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The 3D panels, which resemble a square box with concave sides, can also absorb light from the ground. "I'm excited about the fact that such a seemingly simple idea could help lower the cost of solar power," said researcher Jeffrey Grossman.
