"Robonaut2" -- nicknamed R2 -- is "the world's most dexterous robot," according to engineers working on the device, a joint project of NASA and General Motors. With humanlike arms, hands, fingers, head and torso, R2 is designed to work as well in space as it would on a vehicle assembly line.
Former Microsoft Vice President Dick Brass has written an op-ed piece lambasting Microsoft for what he calls a failure to innovate and its stunting tangle of internal politics. Competition and petty jealousies between departments has meant that any radically different ideas would gain little traction with other executives, Brass writes. "Microsoft never developed a true system for innovation. Some of my former colleagues argue that it actually developed a system to thwart innovation," he writes.
