Amazon, according to this report, has bought a New York startup that makes a type of touch screen that can sense an unlimited number of simultaneous touch points and is less expensive to produce than the capacitive touch screens used in Apple's iPhones and iPads. Although Amazon declined comment on the sale, it's believed that Touchco's screen technology could give the company's Kindle e-reader an advantage over Apple's new tablet PC.
