Publicly traded REITs are doing well accessing the debt markets -- one of their primary strengths right now, says Ron Sturzenegger, managing director and head of real estate and lodging investment banking for Bank of America Securities. "If a well-traded, well-respected publicly traded REIT wants access to 10-year money, it's out there," he said. The one drawback for these companies -- and the industry in general -- is the anemic economic growth.
