Wal-Mart Stores has a new window into consumer homes with the acquisition of digital media streaming service Vudu, which is available on Web-enabled devices such as networked Blu-ray players and specially equipped TV sets. The terms of the deal were not disclosed, but one observer pegged the purchase price at $100 million. The retail giant previously launched an in-home media rental service called Wal-Mart Video Downloads, but it was discontinued.
