With a good history of cooperation, American Airlines and the Transport Workers Union appear likely to avoid a strike, upping the pressure on other labor groups at American to reach negotiated settlements. Several TWU work groups at sister airline American Eagle are already voting on tentative agreements, and the union has lent its support to American on high-profile issues such as a joint venture with Japan Airlines.
