AT&T Chief Technology Officer John Donovan downplayed the carrier's decision to wait a year before launching commercial LTE service while rival Verizon Wireless will do so this year. "2012 will be the time when you'll have decent handsets, decent quantity of handsets, and decent choice of handsets," Donovan said in an interview Sunday. Also at AT&T, the telecom has added a $10 monthly package aimed at cutting the cost of sending SMS, MMS and instant messages from 90 countries.
