BASF will concentrate its efforts on promoting the use of polyurethanes and other engineering plastics in the motorcycle and automotive segments of the Asian market, said Wolfgang Hapke, BASF's president for market and business development in the Asia-Pacific region. "All of our products in Asia will focus on being environmentally friendly and on increasing fuel efficiency. This will be done by replacing steel with plastics, and other materials with more lightweight materials," Hapke said.
