About a third of Fortune 500 companies have Twitter accounts, but most are still struggling to show a return on their investment. Dunkin' Donuts, however, says it has made significant progress in that direction by gathering consumer information through promotional links. The chain uses Twitter promotions to get customers enrolled in its "DD Perks" program, which then allows the company to include those customers' information in a database.
