An improving economy and pent-up demand among leisure travelers will lead to a better-than-expected summer for the airlines, some analysts predict. "It looks like it's going to be a better summer than many people thought it was going to be even three months ago," says travel expert Terry Trippler. Industry executives also have hinted at stronger bookings, though some of the increase is based on sale fares that hurt the bottom line.
