Sprint Nextel CEO Dan Hesse predicted this week that by 2012 the subscribers' bills will be largely based on their data usage rather than voice minutes consumed. Speaking at CTIA WIRELESS®:, Hesse said Sprint chose WiMAX 4G service over LTE because of timing issues related to a desire to get to market at a greater speed. But he and Clearwire CEO Bill Morrow -- speaking after Hesse -- agreed the WiMAX partners would convert to LTE if the market demanded.
