Maryland lawmakers are considering a bill that would continue to fund coaches for teachers pursing National Board Certification. Without the $320,000 in funding provided by the bill, five schools would lose coaches who help teachers through the rigorous certification process. "We need to not only raise the bar, but we have to close the gap. And if having National Board [Certified] Teachers in those schools brings about that change, then I think we have to invest," the state senator who introduced the bill said.
