Microsoft is challenging the Fortune 100's favored virtualization vendor, VMware, with its own offering, Hyper-V. VMware must adjust the pricing of its product if it wants to stay ahead, experts argue. It must also refine its virtualized desktop experience, streamline system management and improve program security ahead of likely cyberattacks, experts suggest. "As we've seen with other technologies, the point where they're almost ubiquitous in the market is when hackers go after them," says Forrester Research analyst James Staten.
