The American Chemistry Council is among a coalition of groups lobbying Congress for more federal support for science and math education programs. The Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Education Coalition wants to set a goal of graduating 400,000 university students in science, technology, engineering and mathematics by the year 2020, which is double the number today. "We need to help the American people recognize how critically important it is to our economy," said STEM organizer Rick Stephens.
