Julie Brill, who has received Senate confirmation to fill a vacancy on the Federal Trade Commission, will bring much expertise on privacy issues to the agency. Brill most recently was the consumer protection chief and deputy attorney general for North Carolina, and is the co-chair of the National Association of Attorneys General Working Group on Privacy. She also made privacy issues a focus during a 17-year stint as an assistant attorney general in Vermont.
