America's construction sector continued to spiral down last year, shedding more than 30% of its workforce overall and losing jobs in 313 out of 337 areas surveyed. Arizona, Nevada and Florida were hardest hit, losing more than half their construction jobs, and construction employment appeared likely to plummet further in coming months. "There's nowhere to hide from what is clearly a construction depression," said Associated General Contractors economist Ken Simonson.
