The revelations of research "missteps" do not change the fact that greenhouse-gas emissions from human activities are contributing to climate change, according to John Holdren, the top science adviser to President Barack Obama. "Fossil fuel and biomass burning and land-use change are almost certainly responsible for a large part of the [climate] changes that are being observed," Holdren said. "Nothing in the recent controversies cast doubt on any of those fundamental propositions."
