Researchers have identified five key behaviors in children as young as 14 months that may be indicative of an autism diagnosis by the time such children reach age 3, according to an ongoing study being conducted at the Kennedy Krieger Institute in Baltimore. The predictors include lack of response to invitations to play, an interest in repetitive acts and infrequent attempts to initiate collaborative activities.
