CreXus Investment went public last year because it identified a severe mismatch between supply and demand for capital, President and CEO Kevin Riordan says. Capital constraints are starting to ease a bit in part because of government rescue efforts, he says. For example, the legacy Term Asset-Backed Securities Loan Facility program has been a success for the market. The markets haven't come back completely, of course. "Right now, it is only accepting the more simplistic CMBS transactions," Riordan says. "It will be some time before it will accept the co-mingled, conduit-type of deals."
