Students in Charleston, S.C., soon could be using the iPod Touch in the classroom as part of a district effort to provide 40 of the handheld devices to every school. Officials say the iPod Touch and its inexpensive applications can be used for lessons in art, science and vocabulary, and educators hope that students will eventually download library books to the iPod Touch. The district hopes to have the initiative in place by next school year.
