Most financial planners fail to challenge their clients' bad investment behaviors, according to a new report from Harvard professor Sendhil Mullainathan. The study sent actors into the offices of financial planners and found that while the planners did a good job of matching asset classes to risk profiles, most were more likely to try to placate the client than give solid investment advice.
