Although Intuitive Surgical's da Vinci robot has become popular among surgeons because of its applications in complex procedures, several surgeons and other experts at a recent meeting in Boston expressed dissatisfaction over the slow pace of improvement in robotic technologies. A gynecological surgeon at a Boston hospital said he thinks innovations such as haptics and a process for integrating MRI data should be incorporated into robotic devices.
