The Texas State Board of Education has voted to include conservative philosophies in the state's social studies, history and economics curriculum -- a decision that could affect learning nationwide because the state is one of the largest textbook buyers in the U.S. The Judeo-Christian influences on the country's Founding Fathers will be required learning under the new curriculum, but not the reasoning behind separation of church and state. Board members also added language requiring schools to teach about the right to bear arms and fought back attempts to include additional mentions of influential Hispanics.
