Parents of students with special needs in Utah are worried over possible cuts to a state-funded program that helps reduce the cost of sending their children to specialized, private schools. Some 900 students have received Carson Smith Special Needs Scholarships since the program was created in 2005, and supporters said the program enables students to attend the school that is the best fit for their needs. "It's one of the best programs we have ever done," said a state legislator who believes the program is safe from cuts.
