Adobe has stopped work on a tool that lets programmers convert Flash-based applications for use on the iPhone and iPad. The tool, called "Packager for iPhone," is still included as part of Adobe's Creative Suite 5. The decision by Adobe to abandon the tool is the latest skirmish between the companies. Apple CEO Steve Jobs has complained that Adobe's software "performs too slow to be useful," and an Adobe executive has said that Apple "wants to tie developers down."
