March demand for crude oil and petroleum products rose 3.5% from the same period last year, as gasoline demand reached a record for the month and production soared to an all-time high, the American Petroleum Institute said. Petroleum deliveries for the month, excluding exports, increased by 661,000 barrels per day, to 19.333 million barrels per day, according to the API's monthly supply-and-demand report.
