Bond issuers in Asia raised more than $20 billion in the G3 currency markets in the first three months of the year, according to Dealogic. Investors had bolstered their balance sheets during 2009, allowing bond issuers to capitalise. The first quarter also saw a boost from issuers that had planned to come to market during the fourth quarter of 2009 but put their plans on hold to avoid overwhelming the investor base.
