The Obama administration has given approval for the nation's first offshore wind farm, which will be located in Nantucket Sound off Cape Cod. The project will include 400-foot-tall turbines, and supporters say it could deliver reductions in greenhouse-gas emissions equivalent to taking 175,000 cars off the road each year. It could also produce about 75% of Cape Cod's electricity needs, according to the developer.
