A CDC official said it will take time to determine how many doses of the H1N1 vaccine must be discarded if they expire before being administered. Dr. Anne Schuchat, head of the CDC'S National Center for Immunization and Respiratory, said getting an H1N1 flu shot still could be beneficial. She also said authorities are reviewing their pandemic response to find out what they could have done better in terms of distributing the vaccine. According to The Washington Post, about 71.5 million doses might have to be thrown out because of expiration.
