The COBRA subsidy eligibility period that lets workers qualify for a 65% subsidy on their COBRA health insurance premiums has been extended to May 31. Employers, who are responsible for the coverage for a period of six months, can recoup the payments in the form of a tax credit. The period initially was set to cover employees who involuntarily lost their jobs between Sept. 1, 2008, and March 31, 2010.
