Florida should not allow bigger trucks to travel on non-interstate roads, writes Sumter County sheriff William Farmer. A Florida bill would increase the allowable weight for tractor-trailers to 88,000 pounds, 4 tons heavier than the current limit. The law would "put motorists and truck drivers at risk, speed the deterioration of our publicly funded infrastructure and waste millions of tax dollars," writes Farmer.
