Dan Sullivan, attorney general for Alaska, and John Binkley, president of the Alaska Cruise Association, have signed an agreement to settle a lawsuit over the state's tax on cruise ship passengers. But the deal depends on whether Alaska's legislature reduces the charge. Member cruise lines have agreed the move would help make Alaska "a more attractive destination." "Each member line, as well as the state, will work to achieve that mutual goal subject to economic conditions and each member line's overall market strategy," according to the deal.
