Facebook tested a question-and-answer feature this week, raising eyebrows of fans of Quora, a social Q-and-A site founded by former Facebook employees. But while Facebook's entry into the Q-and-A market might be bad news for Quora, it's good for users, notes Caroline McCarthy. Previous social Q-and-A efforts have foundered after failing to attract a critical mass of followers, a problem Facebook wouldn't have to worry about. "Piggybacking such a service on top of an existing social network may be what finally gets people asking and answering en masse," McCarthy writes.
