Children and adults with developmental disabilities learn independence and participate in outdoor recreation through Camp Caglewood, a volunteer-run, nonprofit camping program in Georgia. "They gain a great deal of self-esteem, they are able to be more exposed to social environments with campers with like disabilities and different disabilities, and they also get a vacation from Mom and Dad or their everyday caregiver," one of the camp's founders said.
