About 12 million households used only natural products on lawns and gardens in 2008, up from about 5 million in 2004, according to a survey by the National Gardening Association. Bruce Butterfield, market research director for the association, said the number of organic gardeners will likely increase but not to the point of totally displacing conventional fertilizers for lawn care.
