IT departments should unite to coordinate corporate strategies in order to reap the greatest rewards of social media, writes Kristin Burnham. After conducting a survey, Forrester Research has four tips for maximizing social-media use. Instead of getting caught up in concerns about data breaches, IT leaders should work with marketing departments to understand the ways people use social media both inside and outside the company and develop clear business objectives, Forrester says.
