Advertising Age's Agency Report offers a positive projection for 2010 -- global organic sales for the top four holding companies are projected to be up 2% -- and sobering information about last year: Revenue in the domestic marketing-communication agency segment fell 7.5% to $28.4 billion, the steepest drop in 66 years, and employment decreased by 7.8%. Digital shops in 2009 in the U.S. posted a 0.5% increase in sales, the report found.
