Robert Shiller, co-creator of the S&P/Case-Shiller home-price index, wrote in an April 9 New York Times article about the weakness of the U.S. housing market. However, reports that have come out since Shiller's article indicate that the housing market is improving. "The indicators have turned up, so my case has weakened a bit," Shiller said. "While home-price increases began to slow in November, they haven't declined on a seasonally adjusted basis. We're kind of in a holding pattern, where it's very hard to tell."
