M. Anthony Burns, a Stanley Black & Decker director who came under fire for his real estate partnership with company chief executive Nolan D. Archibald, won't seek re-election because he has accepted a position on another corporate board. After it was disclosed that Burns and Archibald were co-owners of a luxury golf community in Utah, the New York Stock Exchange rebuked the company, saying the partnership should have been considered before Burns was declared an "independent" director.
