Wal-Mart is supporting efforts to produce more eco-friendly playthings, spurred by consumer concerns about sustainable production and toxic materials in toys. Green toys represent about 1% of the overall toy market, but some predict the market will grow to about $1 billion, or 5%, by 2015. "Retailers are focused on going green because their consumers are focused on it," said retail consultant Catherine Fox-Simpson.
