Baskin-Robbins is giving miniature helmets representing Major League Baseball teams to customers who purchase a two-scoop sundae and 20-ounce bottle of Aquafina. The ice-cream chain is also promoting baseball with its June flavor of Baseball Nut, which combines vanilla ice cream, cashews and a ribbon of black raspberry.
Baskin-Robbins officials will meet with potential franchisees during a June 24 event at the Phoenix Airport Marriott. The ice-cream chain is seeking franchisees to help it expand in Phoenix and Tucson, Ariz.
Tubs of premium Baskin-Robbins ice cream will be sold at Morrisons stores in the U.K. as the ice-cream maker steps up efforts to gain a presence in major supermarkets. The ice cream was previously sold only at smaller supermarket chains.
Baskin-Robbins locations in the U.S. will sell scoops of ice cream for 31 cents from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. April 28. The fourth-annual 31 Cent Scoop Night includes a $100,000 donation to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, and local firefighters will scoop ice cream at some Baskin-Robbins locations.
Baskin-Robbins customers voted between peanut-nougat-based Whirl of Change or white-chocolate-based Straight Talk Crunch. Sen. Barack Obama's ice-cream flavor won over Sen. John McCain's with 51% of the vote.
