IPS Academia Japan, an affiliate of Kyoto University, agreed to license its patented cell-programming technology to Cellular Dynamics International to advance research on induced pluripotent stem cells. CDI "is working to make the benefits of iPS [cell] technology widely available to drug researchers worldwide, a goal I share as we work toward the improvement of human health care," said Shinya Yamanaka, a scientist at the university who worked on the technology.
