The Federal Trade Commission has given Google its approval to buy AdMob, a mobile-advertising firm, terming the decision a "difficult one" because the deal involves the two largest companies in the market. But the FTC said it was confident Apple's purchase of Quattro Wireless -- and its establishment of the iAd mobile-ad unit -- would provide a competitive market.
