The Senate might start voting today on amendments to legislation that would overhaul financial regulation, said Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill. The Senate is considering proposals including one from Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., to ban the use of taxpayer money to keep companies from collapsing. "There's nothing more important we do in this bill than to end the 'too big to fail' concept," said Senate banking committee Chairman Christopher Dodd, D-Conn.
