Consumers who research products in the store before buying online are less satisfied than shoppers who do their homework online before buying at the brick-and-mortar store, according to new survey data from Forrester Research. Complaints included the inability to find what they were looking for online after seeing it in the store and the inability to check availability online from inside the store. In-store researchers also balked at the shipping fees incurred when they ordered from the website.
