Spirit Airlines has had "pre-reclined" seats installed in some of its planes and is putting the stationary seats in others. The new seats, which are always reclined about 3 inches, weigh less than regular seats. "The lighter-weight seat means less fuel, which is not only better for the environment, but it's a way for us to keep costs low," spokeswoman Misty Pinson said. "And we, in turn, pass that along to our customers by way of even lower fares."
