Students from the Kansas School for the Deaf conducted a mock trial over the issues surrounding the appropriate education of people with hearing impairments. English teacher Kester Horn-Marsh taught students about relevant issues and the law, as he had students argue a controversial yet fictional case involving school placement of a child with hearing impairments. He also tied the event in with the teaching of the novel "To Kill a Mockingbird."
