An 18-month study found that participants who cut their intake of sugar-sweetened beverages by one can a day lowered their blood pressure by 1.8 points of systolic pressure and 1.1 points in diastolic pressure. The study leader noted the reduction is small, but said "population-wise, reducing total consumption could have a huge impact."
