Charla Nash, who lost her hands, nose, lips and eyelids after she was attacked in 2009 by a 200-pound chimpanzee, was recently transferred to a Brigham and Women's Hospital assisted-living center outside Boston. Doctors there will evaluate Nash to determine whether she can receive face and hand transplants. "I'm cautiously optimistic right now," said plastic surgeon Dr. Bohdan Pomahac, who led the team that performed a face transplant last year.
